Intimate Companionship
Employ the Spiritual
Often I have heard it preached or spoken "don't be so heavenly minded that you are no earthly good." In some situations this could lead to issues that would suggest that your mate is stuck on heavenly things and needs to pay more attention to their marital relationship. The truth is we all need balance (Matthew 19:6, Mark 10:9). Look for balance in your spiritual duties as well as your marital duties so there will be peace, joy and happiness.
Joint worship is very intimate and allows the souls of people to become closer to each other and Jesus. There are legitimate reasons that spouses may not be worshiping next to each other (e.g., helping out with the nursery or choir, sitting in the pulpit or musician), but if being connected in the spirit is an issue, put those activities aside for a season while you focus on the spiritual intimacy between you and your spouse.
Deuteronomy 8:3
And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Adonai, Master Over All (Deuteronomy 3:24); we thank You for breathing into us the Spirit of Life wherein we have intimacy in worship. We praise You for the body of flesh that desire companionship and find comfort in our spouse. We declare blessings for the victory we have with balance in our lives so that we may live as a living testimony among Your people. This we pray with an anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, Amen.
