A Long-Term Commitment Is Change!

Fixing a Morally-Bad Decision series

A Long-Term Commitment Is Change!

Short change commitment is short lived results, it exists for the brief amount of time that you have it. Real change is a shift in behavior that endures time. People say they have changed, but if that was yesterday, then that may be a quick fix. Granted some have the ability to change overnight in the instant of a moment because there is a spiritual commitment. Morally-bad decisions happen over time and the Christian life is not a 100 yard dash, it’s a 5K run and for that we must make some adjustment to our life style. People with morally-bad habits have to make a decision to stop, but the craving is still there, denying yourself is a major decision and Jesus demonstrated that with His sacrifice.

Matthew 16:24-26

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

God of my praise, we thank You for long-term change. We praise You for denial of our flesh for we find glory in You. We decree and declare blessings for fixing our morally-bad decisions of short term commitments, so that the profit of our sacrifice will save a soul. This we pray, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
