How to Read a Parable

Understanding Scripture – Jesus began a new method of teaching and so He spoke in parables, short stories with a purpose to illustrate something important. There is a lot to unpack in this parable and in verse 18 He explains it to His disciples.

Critical to our reading is what Christ said in verse 17, that many desire to see what we see and hear what we hear, but it's not for them.

The hack: your walk with the Lord will bring you to different levels and people who are not in the Lord will understand everything that God reveals to you.

Matthew 13:3-8

And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some [seeds] fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.

God of my kindness, goodness and faithfulness, Elohei Chasdi (Psalm 59:17); we thank your for the relationship that with You, we share by Mercy and Grace. We praise You for the teachings of Jesus. We declare and decree blessings upon those who follow You, so that the blessings of Your Wisdom will enhance our abilities to expand the experience of the Kingdom. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
