Faith, The Lifestyle of Saints
Demonstration Of Faith
Abraham, who we call the "Father of Faith" demonstrated great belief in God and obviously did not doubt. At the age of 100, take your only child to a mountain, build a wooden altar, and place your only child by a 99 yr old woman on a pile of sticks, pull out your knife, prepare to kill him and suddenly hear an angel say "Stop," is nothing average. The average person would have start asking questions at "Do What?"
Can God challenge your faith in Him and your works for Him (Genesis 22:1-2)? If you have faith in God, will your faith in Him show in your actions toward Him? Abraham's belief was strong, really strong, not because of what he said he believed, it was but because he showed God his tenacity in his works, which is to do the Will of God.
For us, doing what God wants is work, and if we trust Him, then we act by faith because the only way to know God's will is to be in communion with Him and He doesn't commune with strangers (Matthew 7:21-23).
James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
The LORD Our Righteousness, Jehovah Tsidkenu (Jeremiah 23:6); we thank You for the example of Abraham. We praise You for his willingness to trust and obey your will. We declare and decree blessings upon those who understand that our faith in You has to overcome any reservation of our understanding, so that the works that we do by Your hand are anointed for Your purpose and for our good. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and for the Glory of God, we petition, with an anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
