Faith, The Lifestyle of Saints
Be Strong In Faith
The Apostle Paul in his first letter to the church at Corinth made an acute observation. Watch, stand fast in the Faith and act like men, be strong. That's what he said in chapter 16, verse 13.
The command, watch and stand fast is a directive to pay attention and to hold fast to the Truth that you have been taught. The Truth about Faith and where you see Faith capitalized, we reference this faith to the performance Faith of Jesus Christ. Just a little bit of Jesus' faith is enough to move a mountain.
Paul encourages the church with these words, "quit you like men" a phrase that seems strange to us but the literal transliteration is "act like a man," and the man in this sense is not the biological gender but the Spiritual man, the one who understands and shoulders responsibility.
The encouragement is "be strong" the provocative statement of purpose, "be" the prepositional clause for "strong" indicates that we need to prepare for the times when we need strength, and strength in His Faith is imperative, of vital importance, crucial.
1 Corinthians 16:13
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
Kinsman Redeemer, Go’el (Exodus 15:13); we thank You for the instruction of watching, whereas we learn by observation the things we should be mindful of. We praise You for the directive to "stand fast" in His Faith, where we depend not on our strength but the strength of Jesus Christ. We decree and declare blessings upon those who act like men of the Spirit, so that; the preparation of standing fast in the Faith will produce the results that will bring a harvest into the Kingdom of God. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
