INRI
1 Peter 2:24
Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
As a child, I saw this insignia on a pearly white communion tablecloth, with embroidery in bright red Gothic letters “INRI” with a lack of recognition, they later changed to “IHS” (In His Service). The Apostle Peter wants us to understand the selfless sacrifice of our King and Savior. INRI is an acronym of the Latin phrase IESVS·NAZARENVS·REX·IVDÆORVM (Jesus Nazarenus, rex Judæorum), which translates into English as “Jesus Nazarene, King of the Jews” and it is realized as King of the World, our world. This sign hung on the cross that Jesus gave His life on in three different languages. This message was placed to give hope to the hopeless, strength for the weak, and joy for the desperate. Did He die on the tree for you?
El Sali, God, my Rock - 2 Samuel 22:47; we thank you for being the God of our Rock, in You we find Salvation. We praise You for bearing our sins in Your Body on a wooden tree. We declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those whose sins You bore on the cross, so that; we who recognize You as the King of Kings and Lords of Lords will live. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
