Hope and Faith in the Bible
Defining Faith
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
With the strongest interrogatories passed about in the Faith communities about “what is Faith,” the most reliable and most correct answer is still “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
C.S. Lewis: Hoping For Something More
“Most people, if they had really learned to look into their own hearts, would know that they do want, and want acutely, something that cannot be had in this world. There are all sorts of things in this world that offer to give it to you, but they never quite keep their promise.”
Jehovah Raah (The Lord Is My Shepherd)— Psalms 23:1. Jehovah is YHWH (Yahweh) and means Lord and Master. It is the promised and proper name of God. Jehovah Raah means The Lord Is My Shepherd. God is a friend who provides extravagant nourishment, protection, as well as rest for our weary bodies and souls, and we thank Him. His substance where He has revealed His things we lift a spirit of oneness with praise. We declare and decree the evidence of blessings extolled upon the Faith of those who have not seen, so that; substance of things hoped for shall come in it’s appointed time. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
