Find The Truth, The Invitation (07)
Matthew 11:25-30
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus presents an offer in this invitation to 'take His yoke upon us and learn Him' the word "yoke," according to Adam Clarke in the ancient Jewish customs, represented a person's obligation to God (Jesus). There was a yoke of the Kingdom, the law, the commandments, repentance, faith, and in general of God. Jesus simplified this by simply saying, "take My yoke upon you." In taking His yoke, we remove the possibility to be ambiguous, open to more than one interpretation, or multiple meanings. To "learn" Jesus requires years of sustained study, struggle and focus to comprehend the most accurate sense of learning (2 Timothy 2:14-19). Will you lighten your load and spend time with sustained study, struggle and focus on Jesus?
Jehovah Tsaba, LORD of Hosts - 1 Samuel 17:45; we thank You for being our Lord of Host, the God of our armies. We praise You for offering us Your yoke. We declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who You choose to engage in learning You with sustained study, struggle, and focus, so that; what we learn will promote and increase the building of the Kingdom. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
