Find The Truth, The Invitation (09)
Matthew 11:25-30
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in thy sight. All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him. Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
The Teacher draws us to Him to offer us again rest, and more specifically, rest in our souls. Jeremiah 6:16 reflects on rest for your souls, and the children of Israel said no! The adage "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink" is a similar situation. By taking the yoke of Jesus, we release ourselves from the cares of this world to find peace, and His peace is rest to our souls. Our souls are the emotional engines that run off of stimulus; what we allow for stimulating us determines our yoke. Will you choose to drink from the fountain of life or suffer your fate by rejecting peace?
Jehovah Maginnenu, The LORD Our Defense - Psalm 89:18; we thank You for being the Lord of our Defense. We praise You for the rest of our souls wherein we take Your yoke upon us. We declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who seek You for eternal rest, so that; that we may know in our souls the Grace that You have stored up for us. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
