He Empowers!

Hard Times May Come, But He’s There With Us Through Them All

Though we aren’t promised an easy life, we are told that Christ will be there with us when we believe in Him, that he won’t give us more than we can handle with His help, and even our hard times can be used to glorify God.


He Empowers!

Isaiah 40:1, 29

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God… He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

One of my favorite albums is Handel’s Messiah: A Soulful Celebration produced in part by Mervyn Warren; on track 2, “Comfort Ye My People” song by Vanessa Bell Armstrong and Daryl Coley makes this verse come alive for me. When you read the prophet Isaiah in this 40th chapter, the words jump off the page. His people’s movement near the end of their captivity in Babylon hears these words and are reminded in verse 29 that He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. He empowers me; does He empower you?

Jehovah Elohim Yeshua, The Son of God - Matthew 16:16; we step into the newness of life with Your comfort. We lift praise with an oneness of spirit for the power You give to the weak. We decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who accept the power He gives to the weak and strength He gives to the powerless, so that; we who take comfort in His Word faint not.
