The Give-Up Season series
Profit or Lost?
Jesus places considerable emphasis on the objectivity of sacrifice, losing your life, saving your soul, gaining the whole world, losing your soul. Is loving Jesus, losing sight of "me"? We have placed so much on the idea of "me" that we have become comfortable with what satisfies our sense of importance, but it's really about Him. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Light, and no man can see God without going through His Son because He is the One who died for us, not the calf, the lamb, or a turtle doves (cf. Lev. 12:8). Still, with a blood sacrifice and no broken bones, He died, rose again, and sits at the right hand of His Father in Glory, and we ask what we can exchange for our soul? Giving up "me" gives me Him, and we gain eternal life.
Matthew 16:26
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
God My King (Psalm 68:24), for Thy glory and the profit of eternal life, we say thank You. For the exchange of the Blood for the redemption of our sins, we praise You. We declare and decree blessings for the act of sacrifice that freed us from self-inflicted nonsense (sin); so that, whatsoever You find for us to do, may our hands be seen doing it. Now, for Your Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition with the anointing, the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
