Performance In Christianity series
Real Metrics 4
The acts of what we do reflect our performance in Christianity. If we eat well, then our bodies are more likely to be in a position where God can use us. What we consume affects our ability to perform. It is challenging to be an effective witness if you are in a hospital bed or connected to breathing tubes, not impossible, but improbable.
Does the drink you consume compromise your performance in Christianity? There is an age-old question about the types of drinks Christians drink. Can they drink liquor or beer? Can you drink it in Church? We offer this to the bonfire of opinion if what you do doesn't affect your performance in Christianity and make you uncomfortable - do it. If the Holy Spirit convicts you, then you will not be an effective Christian, then don't. Read your Word; He will direct you.
Actions of the mind, body, and soul. What you do to Glorify God has to be the foremost thing on your mind. That was the mind of Christ. Jesus put God in front of everything that He did (John 519). Jesus valued quality and efficiency; what He did was right in the sight of God (Matthew 3:17). Jesus feeds the multitudes with efficiency; He used His disciples to distribute the food. He didn't serve everyone personally but made the provision, and everyone got what they wanted (Matthew 14:13-20). He set the motion for evangelism before He left to return to His father, each one teach one establishes a perpetual Geometry for discipleship (Matthew 28:16-20).
If you can see the Glory of God in whatever you are doing, then keep doing it. It's the measure of the efficiency of Jesus Christ, if not then ask for directions like Jesus did.
1 Corinthians 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
God who is near, Elohei Mikkarov (Jeremiah 23:23), we thank You for measuring our capacity for Your Glory. We praise You for the temperance of our human and spiritual consumption. We decree and declare blessings upon those who act to Glorify Your Name, so that; by putting You in front of all we do we magnify Your Holy Name. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
