Performance In Christianity series
Real Metrics 5
Here is a pivotal measurement that we all, as adults can relate to “the old man” in us. The denouncing of who you were and the pronouncement of what you are becoming is essential to the Christian experience. If there is no change, there is no Christian!
The “new creature” is the transformation that occurs when you accept Jesus as your personal Savior. The “new” is the indication of what happens after the change of fleshly habits, you stop living the old life and start over in the spirit of Christ, it’s new (Mark 8:36). When the practices of the flesh man are surrendered, we lift into the spiritual man. This measurement is a performance measurement; it’s called the 360-degree review. When your family, friends, and associates can validate your change, that’s measurable.
When we see Jesus in our lives, there is a preposition for transformation (John 15:2-5). There is an election in the heart that transcends everything inside of us, especially the desire to live life without the comfort of Christ. The collection of habits that don’t reflect that God’s image has to change; the change moves from a horizontal direction to a vertical (Psalm 143:8). This direction leads us to a lifestyle that builds us up instead of stretching us to the point of exhaustion and capacity.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
God with us, Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14), we thank You for giving us measurements to live by. We praise You for establishing the necessity of becoming alive in the spirit and dead to our fleshly desires. We decree and declare blessings upon those who measure performance in Christianity with a 360-degree evaluation, so that; our family, peers, and associates learn to value Your Grace in our lives as we bring You the Glory. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
