Hard Times May Come, But He’s There With Us Through Them All
Though we aren’t promised an easy life, we are told that Christ will be there with us when we believe in Him, that he won’t give us more than we can handle with His help, and even our hard times can be used to glorify God.
Strength In Weakness
2 Corinthians 12:6-10
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
Paul exalted the Lord by the revelation of his situation, which he enquired about three times, and the answer he got was the principle of verse 9. These words fortify us today when we feel torn by the pressures of this present life. Paul’s accentuation identifies God’s intent, His grace. His grace is more powerful than our weakness; when the grace of God is upon us, we are weak, and He shows His strength in us by His grace.
Jehovah El Emeth, LORD God of Truth - Psalm 31:5; we thank You for Your Grace, it is sufficient for me. Emphasizing our praise when in distress glorifies Your strength in our weakness. We decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who profess Your Grace, so that; through our infirmities, reproaches, persecution, and distress, we become strong through the sacrifice of Christ. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
