Healing Pain During Covid-19
These verses collectively and individually address our pain, how we identify with adversity and answers from God. This collection of comforting scriptures will help guide you toward whole and complete healing.
The Call For The Afflicted
James 5:13-18
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
The qualifying question is, "Is there anyone among you afflicted ?" James 5:13 And there are many among us, so let them pray. We typically overlook the message in this passage of scripture that when things are going easy, it is easy to sing hymns and songs of testimony. The challenge is to tell God how great He is when things are upside-down and gloomy. An affliction is something that transcends suffering; it is unique and irreducible (Psalms 34:17-20, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Romans 8:18). The advice of James is to pray when we are afflicted, find scripture (Psalms 119:71, James 1:2-4) that harmonizes with our victory and praise God for redemption and deliverance. If you are afflicted, can you pray?
Elohei Marom, God of Heights- Micah 6:6; we thank You, God, of Heights for Your Kindness. We praise You for the transition of our afflictions beyond mere suffering. Therefore, we decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who receive Your Word to pray; so that; we who are afflicted will sing Your Scriptures and exalt Your Name. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
