Healing Pain During Covid-19
These verses collectively and individually address our pain, how we identify with adversity and answers from God. This collection of comforting scriptures will help guide you toward whole and complete healing.
The Call For The Afflicted, 3c
James 5:13-18
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
After offering prayer, there must be faith both in the person praying and in the person receiving the prayer. In a time of sickness, it is not the cold and formal prayer that is effectual, but the prayer of faith—following with anointing with oil with the authority of the Lord (James 5:14). The significance of this act is not to be taken lightly. In Christianity, anointing was considered more important than baptism. 1 John 2:27 - But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him. This verse creates a sense of importance for understanding that the simplicity of proseuchology (prayer) is far from simple. How important is it to understand the action of anointing with oil with the authority of Jesus Christ?
Ehyeh asher Ehyeh, The eternal, all-sufficient God - Exodus 3:14; we thank You for being our eternal, all-sufficient God. We praise You for acknowledging the anointing and the wisdom of understanding with the authority of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who have called on the elders; so that; we who are elders will prove ourselves in prayer and anointing with the Name of Jesus. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
