These verses collectively and individually address our pain, how we identify with adversity, and answers from God. This collection of comforting scriptures will help guide you toward whole and complete healing.

The Call For The Afflicted, 3e

James 5:13-18

Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

The commentary of Jamieson, Fausset & Brown suggests that there are "special sins" they don't go into the establishment of what "special" means but offer scriptures that reference "sin" (self-inflicted nonsense) as an experimental paradigm (model) for dealing with sickness (Isaiah 33:24, Matthew 9:2-5, John 5:14). Matthew Henry says where sickness is sent as a punishment for some particular sin, that sin shall be pardoned, and in token thereof the sickness shall be removed. The most important thing we wish to emphasize is that these sins will be forgiven with the Prayer of Faith. Finally, David Guzik describes this as the Prayer of Faith, …God does not grant immediate healing for every prayer of faith, and the reasons are hidden in the heart and mind of God. Still, many are not healed simply because there is no prayer of faith offered. The best approach in praying for the sick is to pray with humble confidence that they will be healed... Having prayed, we leave the matter to God. He offers no scriptural support for his conclusion, so we offer this in the matter 2 Corinthians 5:7 whatever God is doing in this season, please don't do it without me. Can you support whatever God is doing in this season?

Jehovah Chereb, The LORD… the Sword - Deuteronomy 33:29; we thank You for being the Lord… the Sword of our redemption. We praise You for the Prayer of Faith and those seeking forgiveness. Therefore, we decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who have suffered from sins of commission; so that; we who have prayed the Prayer of Faith will be in a position to receive forgiveness of our sins. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
