Healing Pain During Covid-19
These verses collectively and individually address our pain, how we identify with adversity, and answers from God. This collection of comforting scriptures will help guide you toward whole and complete healing.
The Call For The Afflicted, 4b
James 5:13-18
Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess [your] faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
There are three particular characteristics in this latter part of verse 16: the effectual nature of prayer, the necessity for fervent prayer, and a righteous person's attributes. Ideally, the length of prayer does not make it effectual (James 1:6, Matthew 21:22, 1 Timothy 2:8). The Holy Spirit energizes effectual prayer, a charism of the Holy Ghost; the true blessing of God is the evidence of the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. The fervency required for effectual prayer is the constituent for its' power source- weak power, weak prayer! The demarcation of the righteous person (God sees spirits, Ephesians 3:16-17) indicates a person experienced in the Ways of God (Romans 5:1-7, 1 Corinthians 2:1-16). Psalm 1:1-6 personifies the righteous person. Can you be identified as a righteous person?
Jehovah Maginnenu, The LORD Our Defense - Psalm 89:18; we thank You for being our Lord our defense. We praise You for clarity for effectual, fervent prayers of righteous people. Therefore, we declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who edify the clarity of Truth; so that we who seek healing look into the corporate body for strength. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
