The Fiery Trial - 2
1 Peter 4:12-19
Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
A developed sense of entitlement is a direct result of a false sense of worth (Proverbs 3:7; 26:1). We have a tenacity to treat God like a 'genie in a bottle,' ask and it must happen, Matthew 7:7 and Luke 11:9 speaks of asking and we fail to observe the blindness the flesh when talking to a Holy God about carnal things (2 Corinthians 4:1-2). When things that do not fix within our scope of consideration do we find it 'strange?' What happens in the lives of believers is not strange, it is temperance and development (Genesis 22:1-24, James 1:2-4). Can you handle strange?
Jehovah Ha-Melech, The LORD the King - Psalm 98:6; we thank You for being the Lord the King for everything in our lives. We praise You for broadening our comprehension for the strange things that happen in our lives. We decree and declare the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who find the life of saints not so strange, so that; we who pass the fiery trials with Christ bear witness of His suffering. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
