The Healing Visit - 2
Jeremiah 15:15-18
O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation. Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, [which] refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether unto me as a liar, [and as] waters [that] fail?
This passage opens an acknowledgment of this prayer. In just the beginning of these words, the prophet asks the Lord to know him, remember him and visit him; revenge him, give judgment against them, and keep him in His longsuffering (Jeremiah 15:15, Matthew 17:17). The idea that God has longsuffering for our sins does not excuse us from His decisions and the consciences of His eternal Will (1 Timothy 1:12-16). There are many prayers, but all prayers are not righteous, and because we read them in the Bible does not make them applicable to us in terms of salvation or redemption. Will you continue to pray for revenge?
Elohim Kedoshim, Holy God - Joshua 24:19; we thank You for being our Holy God. We praise You for revealing the nature of prayer, as it is not always done for your Glory or Honor. Therefore, we declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who understand the nature of our souls; so that, the keeping of our life is within Thy longsuffering. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with the anointing of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
