The Just Live By Faith
This iconic statement, Habakkuk 2:4, about the Lifestyle of Faith, comes from our Old Testament Jewish Prophet Habakkuk. These words come at a time when the Jewish world saw an imminent disaster; the Babylonians were coming!
The prophet was distressed, and this scripture is part of the conversation he had with God, they were facing the greatest enemy that Israel had ever seen, the demonic sword of a foreign enemy. In Habakkuk 2:1, he announced his spiritual position by stating that he was on watch in the tower of the city, and he saw reproof coming. When we see rebuke coming, most of us run and scatter like the pests in the kitchen when the lights come on.
The songwriter, Patrick Love found the inspiration to write a tune to this epic passage of scripture in Habakkuk 2:2, Write the vision | Make it plain | That they may run | And not faint | Though the vision | Is only for a while | It shall speak | And not lie | For if the Lord said it | You can count on it | He will do just what He said.
Habakkuk 2:4
Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
Almighty God, El Shaddai (Genesis 17:1, 2); we thank You for the watchmen on the tower, watching for the reproof that will come when we forfeit our righteousness. We praise You for the vision, how You have made it plain, for those that read it will run and not faint. We decree and declare blessings upon those who endure hardness as good soldiers, so that; the testimony of those who wait on You will say, "He will do just what He said. Now, for the sake of the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
