Troubled Times (COVID-19 pandemic series)
Where do we find our strength? In the Lord, our God!
The Provision of Strength
Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
During a time of famine, the chosen people were inspired by the prophet Ezra (the preacher) to project the Lord's provision during the Feast of Trumpets (a convention of the people, called a Sabbath, a Holy day). Like us, they were sad because they heard the reading of the Law, and it troubled them. However, Ezra and the Levites, who explained the Word to them, encouraged them to see the provision of the Lord. The provision is greater than the sorrow, as Jesus is greater than the problem; therefore, while we recognize the effect of Covid-19, we gather strength from our Hope in Jesus Christ.
El Nekamoth, God that Avengeth - Psalm 18:47; we thank You, O Lord for You have seen our weakness in our gloom and restored us. We come in a spirit of oneness to give praise Your Wonderful Name for You are our strength. We declare and decree the blessing (the indwelling of the Holy Spirit) upon those who hear the Truth of Your Love, so that; in the gathering of Your people for a Holy Day, we rejoice in the strength of Your provision. Now, for the Kingdom and Glory of God, we petition, with anointing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
