Performance In Christianity series
What You Do For Christ
Looking deeper, Neal Morse the rock star is said to have written a song titled “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last,” and he did, but it wasn’t the right song, it wasn’t the right tune. I looked more in-depth, and I remembered that Mattie Moss Clark recorded the song as well as others, but it is written by Raymond Rasberry, (1963, Republished, Pronto Music and Simco Music Co. Inc.).
Some things appear to be right, but they are wrong (Matthew 21:18–22); even things we do for Christ or things we think we are doing. We believe that things are one way, but the way that we choose is not the way it goes (Proverbs 14:12). I looked for the author of “Only What You Do For Christ Will Last,” but it was the wrong composer, same words, right title but the wrong tune and therefore the wrong song. So many times we do things that we think are for Christ but is the wrong thing, improper motive, illegal purpose, wrong timing, wrong just wrong.
What you do for Christ must be inspired by the Holy Ghost, a part of the Godhead, everything else will not make a difference (1 Corinthians 15:58). Our performance is measured in the space of the Holy Ghost, and any other measurement will not make sense (Joshua 3:4). Ecclesiastes 4:12 narrates the threefold cord, if you want to please God, you must have the Faith and Performance of Jesus the Christ. To engage the purpose of Christ, you have to be sealed with the Holy Ghost, who is a part of the triune head of God. Can you be measured to serve Him?
2 Corinthians 5:9-10
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
The LORD God of recompense, Jehovah El Gemuwal (Jeremiah 51:56), we thank You for our clarity about what we do. We praise You for our understanding of researching Truth and appropriate measurement. We decree and declare blessings upon those who walk with Spiritual understanding and Faith, so that; by clarifying what we do for Christ, we set footholds for the weak to become strong. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
