When The Instinct To Increase Is Missing? Pt 3
We have described and defined instinct, so now let's look at what happens when instinct is missing. In the passage of 2 Samuel 6:1-12 we review the narrative of King David moving the Ark of the Covenant and the unfortunate mishap of Uzzah doing what he thought was right but ended up dead because David angered God.
Our focus on instinct is about when it is missing. David knew what he was supposed to do, but nowhere in this passage is his instinct discovered. To make it obvious, David was focused on his glory instead of pleasing God by moving the Ark, he got a new cart with big fresh oxen (2 Samuel 6:3), but it was to be moved in a certain way by certain people.
David felt an urge and instead of acting on his instinct he acted on the urge. 2 Samuel 5:19 David acts out of instinct and inquires of the Lord before he makes a move against an enemy. We should not overlook our instincts for there are ordained by God. God knows every move we make and will not lift a finger to stop us because we have free choice and we must walk by Faith and not by sight!
2 Samuel 6:12
And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.
Master Over All, Adonai (Deuteronomy 3:24), we thank You with the oneness of spirit for evidence of our spiritual instinct. We praise You for the blessings of Obed-Edom who prospered from your presence. We decree and declare blessings upon those who hold to the presence of God in their lives, so that; the presence of Jesus Christ who is our living Ark of the Covenant will lead us into the Kingdom of God. Now, for the Kingdom and the Glory of God, we petition, with anointing in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior, Amen.
